Everything I’ve studied about highly successful people says that they maximize the morning … getting up earlier than the world to carve out a precious space to get themselves together.
So I figured that this would be easier if we all did it together. So join me in this new community of people who are committed to getting their best results … and getting up early in order to do so.
7 Steps to a Million Dollar Morning
Start the night before
Believe it or not, Million Dollar Mornings are created the night before. Carve out some time before going to bed to
- Review your accomplishments for the day
- Celebrate your victories … aka “Gratitude”
- Relax your mind
Then go to sleep at a decent hour. Count backwards from the time you intend to wake up so that you get 7 to 8 hours of sleep. Oh, and if you plan to exercise in the morning, put out your workout gear the night before too!
Get up at the same time each morning
When you go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time, you create a pattern that allows your body to go to sleep faster, sleep better, and wake up easier.
For the next 28 days, let’s set the alarm clock for when we actually want to get up ….and break that bad habit of hitting the snooze button. Here’s a tip: put your alarm on the other side of the room. This way you’ll have to actually get up in order to shut it off … and then you might as well stay up anyway.
Take time to Meditate on your Goals, Core Values, Beliefs, and Dreams
This is the jewel of the Million Dollar Morning … waking up early enough … before the world starts to look for you … so that you have some time and space to simply THINK!

- Connect with your core values
- Reflect on your beliefs
- And Visit your Dreams
You won’t believe how much better your day will be once you’ve taken this golden opportunity to get “centered”.
Take some time to Visualize yourself achieving your goals and winning the day’s victories
Visualization is a technique used by champions in every endeavor … sports, business, whatever. See yourself winning, whether that’s losing weight, closing the big deal, advancing a rank, etc.
Don’t just see it though … visit it. Really go there. Use as many of your senses as you can to experience the experience.
Then go live the replay during the day.
Plan your day
Ever have those days where you kind of knee-jerk from one “emergency” to another, responding to requests, putting out fires … ending the day exhausted, but having accomplished very little? And definitely not accomplishing anything that moves the needle on your goals?
This is where your plan comes in. If you take the time to plan out what you absolutely need to accomplish each day, the chances of you moving the needle on your goals each day goes up exponentially. There will still be emergencies and interruptions …but with a plan you can minimize them and get back on track faster.
Get some exercise
Walk. Run. Lift Weights. Do Yoga. What you do is up to you. How long you do it is up to you. The most important thing is that you get moving in a way that exerts energy, challenges you, and gets your blood running.
I find that my mood and outlook are significantly better on the days I get some exercise. My thinking is clearer. And I’m on my game.
So get some exercise … each day.
Fuel your body by eating a healthy breakfast
Ok, I know you’ve heard this before, but it’s true … breakfast is really important. It can either fuel your Million Dollar Morning …. or blow up your day before it begins.
Eat a healthy breakfast each day. Don’t overeat. And skip the carbs, the junk, and the heavy stuff that’s just gonna put your brain and your drive right back to sleep.
Seems easy enough, right? NOT! I’ve been working on this for over a month now. I’d have to grade myself a “C” at best.
But here’s one thing I know, there’s power in putting our collective minds, energy, and willpower together. So let’s go at this for 28 days … and create Million Dollar Mornings …. together!
